Mosaic Classes – Perkins Center for the Arts, Collingswood NJ

For Spring 2025, I will be offering two different classes. Saturday morning class is suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. An intermediate level class is scheduled for Wednesday afternoons. Below is information for both classes. Links for registration will be posted as soon as they become available

BEGINNING & INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MOSAICS

In this beginning to intermediate level class, you will learn how to use simple hand tools to create beautiful mosaic designs.  Learn about different mosaic techniques and materials and how to choose the right combination for different projects.  You can either make a project of your own choosing or select from instructor provided projects. Tools will be available in class for those who do not have their own.  Basic materials provided. Class may be repeated multiple times.

INTERMEDIATE MOSAICS

In this intermediate level class, students with past mosaic experience will improve and advance their mosaic skills and techniques.  Students will create a mosaic under guidance of the instructor using more complex techniques and explore different materials. Project options include the indirect method,working with thinset, mirror as substrate, dimensional hand-built mosaic substrate, abstract design or student selected project.  Emphasis will be placed on design and incorporation of color theory and andamento.  Class may be repeated multiple times. Tools will be available in class for those who do not have their own.  Basic materials provided.

Mosaic Classes -Fleisher Art Memorial,

I will be teaching one class at Fleisher Art Memorial during the Spring 2024 semester on Wednesday evenings. Below is information for the class as well as link for registration.

FUNDAMENTALS OF MOSAICS

This class focuses on developing a strong foundation in mosaic skills, understanding of appropriate material choices and color theory. Students in this all-levels class will work on a project of their own choice with guidance from the instructor. This class is suitable for both beginners and intermediate levels. Basic materials and use of tools provided.
