Mosaic Classes – Perkins Center for the Arts, Collingswood NJ
For Spring 2022, I will be offering three different classes. Saturday morning class will be suitable for beginners and intermediate levels. Saturday afternoon is an all level class. An intermediate level class is scheduled for Wednesday evenings. Below is information for both classes as well as link for registration.
BEGINNING & INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MOSAICS
In this beginning to intermediate level class, you will learn how to use simple hand tools to create beautiful mosaic designs. Learn about different mosaic techniques and materials and how to choose the right combination for different projects. You can either make a project of your own choosing or select from instructor provided projects. Tools will be available in class for those who do not have their own. Basic materials provided. Class may be repeated multiple times.

INTERMEDIATE MOSAICS — EXPLORING 3D SUBSTRATES
Explore options for creating three dimensional substrates. Instructor will demonstrate creating bases using sculpted foam, layered foam core board, wire and screen forms, and armature-based shapes. Students will create a substrate of their choice for their mosaic project. Past experience working in mosaic or cutting glass/tile is suggested. Basic materials will be provided. Class will not meet June 8, the final class meeting will be held 6/15/22.

FUSAICS – COMBINING FUSED GLASS WITH MOSIAC
This class, taught jointly by two teaching artists, Deb DiMarco – specializing in glass fusing, and Veronica Kairos – specializing in mosaics. This is a unique approach to crafting glass art using both glass fusing and mosaic creation. Suitable for both beginners and those with experience, we will learn how to fuse glass and use the components to create a dimensional mosaic. Students will learn cutting and shaping glass using hand and electric tools as well as mosaic techniques.
Saturday 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Apr 9, 2022 – May 21, 2022)

PRIVATE TUTORING
So you really would like to learn how to mosaic or want some pointers to improve your existing skill set. Maybe your schedule doesn’t allow for attending a regular class. Perhaps you just need one or two sessions on a specific topic. No worries – I provide individual tutoring sessions which can be customize to your availability and specific topics.
Would you like to have private tutoring sessions but distance is an issue? With virtual meetings, distance is no longer a limitation. I’ve taught many mosaic classes successfully on-line and am able to bring successful long-distance learning from my studio directly to your home.
